RECENT ISA ADVISORY PROJECTS
THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (NBA)
The NBA’s Objective
The NBA viewed Asia as the leading growth market for their product. With a population of over 4.5 billion, the Asia region provided the NBA with numerous avenues for growth. However, the NBA lacked accurate information on the actual market potential for individual countries in this region and they desired to have a much more accurate assessment of each country’s market potential before committing more resources to these markets.
The Work We Did for the NBA
ISA Advisory conducted detailed research and analysis on more than 25 markets in Asia to determine which markets provided the NBA with best opportunities for growth. First, ISA Advisory analyzed the economic, political, technological and social outlooks for each of these markets to determine where the NBA would find the best opportunities for growth, while minimizing their risks in this region. Second, ISA Advisory analyzed the sports and entertainment trends that would develop in each market to determine where the NBA would fit in each market’s sports and entertainment landscape. Finally, ISA Advisory selected the markets that would offer the NBA the best growth opportunities in the years ahead and provided the NBA with a roadmap for entering and expanding in each of these markets.
How the NBA Benefitted from Our Work
Thanks to the support of ISA Advisory, the NBA was able to successfully expand its presence in the fast-growing region of Asia. Since this project was completed, the NBA has dramatically expanded its presence in this region and it is now the fastest-growing revenue source for the NBA.

VITA-MIX
Vitamix’s Objective
Vitamix, the world’s leading manufacturer of blenders, hired ISA Advisory on a retainer service to provide it with information, analysis and strategic planning for the expansion of its business in markets outside of the United States and to analyze the economic, business, technological and demographic changes that would impact their business in the future.

The Work We Did for Vitamix
ISA Advisory provided Vita-Mix with a range of services that allowed them to expand their business to markets in all regions of the world. For example, ISA Advisory conducted market research for Vita-Mix that provided them with detailed estimates of their potential for growth in 65 international markets. In addition, ISA Advisory spoke regularly with Vita-Mix executives to brief them on the key economic, technological and industry trends that were impacting their business around the world. Finally, ISA Advisory worked together with Vita-Mix executives to determine which markets were ideal for their expansion efforts.
How Vitamix Benefitted from Our Work
With the support of ISA Advisory, Vita-Mix was able to reallocate their resources to markets that provided them with the best opportunities for growth, while avoiding markets that exceeded their desired levels of risk. Working with ISA Advisory, Vita-Mix has been able to dramatically and profitably re-orient their business around the world.

MCDONALD'S
McDonald’s Objective
McDonald’s derives over 80% of their revenues from their nine largest markets around the world. As such, McDonald’s wanted to have a clear and unbiased picture of the business climate, the economy, the level of political risk and much more in each of these nine markets.
The Work We Did for McDonald’s
ISA Advisory was hired on a retainer by McDonald’s to provide a monthly overview of each of the nine markets in which they generate the most revenues. This overview was presented monthly by ISA Advisory to McDonald’s executives. Furthermore, ISA Advisory created strategic plans for McDonald’s to allow them to prepare for the major changes that were taking place in each of these markets, as well as preparing McDonald’s to react to sudden changes in the economic, business and political climate in each market.
How McDonald’s Benefitted from Our Work
Thanks to the research and strategic planning conducted by ISA Advisory, McDonald’s was able to be proactive in preparing for some of the major changes that impacted their most important markets, at home and abroad, in recent years. This has allowed McDonald’s to continue generating healthy rates of growth in nearly all of these markets at a time when many of its main competitors have struggled to generate growth in these markets.

COCA-COLA
Coca-Cola’s Objective
Coca-Cola was growing increasingly concerned with the impact of regulations on water usage and on beverages that were perceived to be detrimental to the health of their consumers. As a result, Coca-Cola hired ISA Advisory to assist them with their efforts to improve their environmental and health record, both in the United States and around the world.
The Work We Did for Coca-Cola
ISA Advisory provided a number of services to Coca-Cola to support their environmental and health aspirations. First, ISA Advisory created a monthly monitor covering all of the major environmental and health developments and regulations around the world that would impact Coca-Cola’s business. Second, ISA Advisory worked with Coca-Cola to develop strategies to improve Coca-Cola’s relationships with governments and regulatory bodies around the world. Finally, ISA Advisory developed strategic plans that were used by Coca-Cola to improve their environmental footprint and their impact on the environment.
How Coca-Cola Benefitted from Our Work
Thanks to the diligent work of ISA Advisory, Coca-Cola was able to protect their business from harmful regulations that would have adversely impacted their businesses at home and in markets across the globe. Furthermore, thanks to ISA Advisory’s customized research, Coca-Cola was able to remain on top of potential threats to their business, allowing them to proactively develop strategies designed to ensure that their business continued to thrive.

UEFA
UEFA’s Objective
UEFA wanted a neutral third-party to assess potential hosts for UEFA’s largest football (soccer) events in Europe. At the time, there were major concerns among UEFA’s leadership that the voting process for the rights to host events such as the European Championships and the UEFA Champions League Final was highly flawed and overly influenced by special interests.
The Work We Did for UEFA
UEFA hired ISA Advisory to provide the voters for the rights to host its leading football (soccer) events with an unbiased assessment of all of the countries and cities that were bidding to host these events. This customized research was compiled by ISA Advisory and provided to each voter in each of the separate elections for the right to host these events.
How UEFA Benefitted from Our Work
With the support of ISA Advisory, UEFA has been able to significantly increase the revenues that they have generated through their flagship events, including the European Championship and the UEFA Champions League. Furthermore, UEFA has been able to identify those countries and cities that are best suited to not only increase their event revenues, but to improve the attractiveness of their flagship events.
